Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

The sixty-sixth session of Harvard Model United Nations will be held from Thursday, January 24, to Sunday, January 27, 2019. Come January, more than 3,300 high school delegates and their faculty advisors will gather to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Together with our staff of over 230 Harvard University undergraduates, delegates will be asked to step into the role of international decision makers, negotiate on major international crises, and craft innovative policy solutions. Every year, HMUN attracts some of the most promising young leaders from around the world, and HMUN 2019 will be no exception.

At our sixty-fifth session, delegates in attendance hailed from over 50 countries – making HMUN one of the most international high school model UN conferences in the world. The international nature of our conference matters – delegates certainly learn a lot from reading our meticulously researched background guides, and from discussion in committee, but so much of the educational value of this conference comes from meeting hundreds of other young leaders from radically different backgrounds, from all over the world. I could not be more excited to continue the unparalleled level of substantive excellence that HMUN is renowned for to our sixty-sixth session.

Applications for HMUN 2019 are now closed! This year we received hundreds more applications than we have space for at conference. If you were accepted to HMUN – congratulations! If you were unsuccessful this year, we encourage you to check back in May 2019 when applications will open for HMUN 2020.
