LATE FEES


• $35 USD for school fees paid past the deadline (October 10th, 2018)

• $50 USD per school for delegate fees paid past the deadline (October 31st, 2018)

• $50 USD for delegate names and liability waivers submitted past the deadline (November 7th, 2018)

Conference Venue


All conference events will take place in the Sheraton Boston, the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, and the Marriott Copley Place. Continuing with the conference expansion from HMUN 2018, a number of HMUN 2019 committees will take place at the Marriott, providing additional opportunities for delegates from across the world to meet and engage with one another. Expanding beyond the Sheraton will also allow for greater delegate, advisor, and staff comfort during conference.

The Sheraton Boston and the Marriott Copley Place are a short 5-minute walk from one another, and are linked indoors by the Prudential Center and Copley Place shopping malls that include many dining options during conference.

Accepted delegations at HMUN are eligible for discounted hotel room rates. To receive this discount, please see information about the hotel reservation form below. The per-night rates are as follows, not including state and local taxes (currently at 14.45%):

  • Single: $215
  • Double: $215
  • Triple: $219
  • Quad: $249

Hotel Reservation Form: Required for reserving hotel rooms in the Sheraton Boston or the Marriott Copley Place. This form is available through your MUNbase account if you have been accepted to HMUN 2018. Please return the form directly to the Sheraton, and please note that you must use the form to receive the discount HMUN rate.

FINANCIAL AID


HMUN believes that no student should be excluded from participating in HMUN 2018 for financial reasons. In order to ensure representation of international perspectives, we seek participants from all corners of the globe. We thus offer substantial need-based financial aid. To determine financial need, we consider all expenses directly related to the conference, including the cost of transportation, lodging, and conference fees. Financial aid applications opened on May 10, 2018.

General Information

Our financial aid is strictly need-based. We provide financial assistance for expenses directly related to the conference. In this application, we ask that you please provide relevant financial information about your delegation and school resources. Please provide proof of need in all applicable areas to increase your delegation's chances of receiving financial aid. All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and will be used only for financial aid purposes. We encourage you to block out any sensitive information in in the documents you submit. These sensitive information may include bank account numbers and Social Security Numbers.

In order to received the allocated financial aid, the financial aid recipient must attend all committee sessions and abide by the conference terms and conditions.

By conference policy, HMUN does not provide financial aid in cash. All financial aid will be given in the form of a check made to the delegate. Financial aid recipient will be be able to pick up a their financial aid award on the Sunday of the conference.

Eligibility

HMUN 2018 is open to students who are:

  • Of any nationality or citizenship
  • Of any gender, race, or ethnicity
  • At least 13 years old
  • Currently enrolled in high school or recent graduates of high school
  • Will not be matriculated in a college during the period of January 25 to January 28, 2019

If you are eligible to attend HMUN, you are most likely eligible for financial aid assistance. Please remember that all financial aid awards are need-based.

Application Instructions

To submit an application for our financial assistance program, please be sure to fill out both the delegate form and the faculty advisor form . The application will be due October 3, 2018. Decisions regarding financial assistance will be conveyed in late October 2018.
